Small update regarding the WebGL build (28th December)

I've added a web build of the game so people don't have to download the game if they don't want to.

I would still recommend the Windows/ Linux versions as the web build might have some inconsistency issues.

Controls

  • P - Pause
  • WASD - Movement
  • Space - Pass turn/ continue dialogue
  • C - Skip dialogue (only available after reading the dialogue at least once

About the game

Adventuring Pixx is a game developed in 3 days for the gamejam minijam96, with the theme fate and limitation of  "losing is good".

Join Pixx and help Brorvar, an adventurer that Pixx is in charge of dealing their fate, obtain a little bit of glory in a weird dungeon, where its traps and residents move after you move or pass your turn.

Ideas behind the game

As soon as I saw the theme "Fate", I knew I had to do something with the Greek Fates.

The main idea was "what if there was a servant to one of the fates, tasked with serving a humans fate but instead of going through with it, they become friends with the human and in the end they reject their "job" as a servant of fate."

I decided to do this via narrative and unfortunately I couldn't really focus on the story in these past few days, making it rushed and with no real relationship build up between characters or with no real grasp for the limitation.

Still had fun doing it. Specially hiding stuff that does not work.

Believe me, there's a whole lot that is hidden on purpose.

The current state of the game is playable, although I'll try and clean up and add onto the game once I'm free again.

I'll eventually make the code public but for now, private it is.
